as with any final work product for a semester's worth of toil, your efforts are definitely evident and appreciated for the dedication. I should also commend your "CRAFT" in terms of the hand work and sketching you include in your presentation. So much of today's investigations are carried out on a compiuter that it is good to see the pencil and torn paper/hot gue still being utilized.
Specific to your design, given the site, it was an ambitious amount of programme to squeeze in. I do believe that you arrived at your massing late in the process. THe volumes themselves are very reminiscent of the Boora project. Take a look (after getting some sleep) at the detaiing of that building. it could be in your rendering style, but the curvature is either lost oe innecessary in the brown auditorium volume. There also seems to be a large amount of monolithic mass without punctuation, be it windows or form.
All in all, you did a great job. it has been a pleasure
Your early models and sketches indicated that your aim was a very sculptural yet functional design. This intention of yours remains clearly evident in your final design, although I think that part of the sculptural quality was ‘lost’ along the way. Perhaps this happened when you progressed from the concept models and sketches to CAD drawings and the wrapping element was modified. Nevertheless, the original idea is still there. At the same time, your solution remains straightforward, clean and functional, and this is what I like most about it, especially when I consider that your narrow, urban plot was not the easiest site to work with.
Everything is very well drawn in your presentation. Your 3D section is very informative. Your plans could have been a little better annotated in order to clarify some parts of your design, but other than that everything is presented in a nice and clear manner.
When I look at your 3D model I cannot tell with certainty what the materials that you are proposing for the facade are. While investigating and selecting the possible materials for a project is always very helpful, depending on the 3D software you are using there may be room for improvement in your photorealistic rendering and texturing. And while we are at the 3D model, keep in mind that aerial and birds eye views are always great to see but for the most part buildings are experienced from the eye level.
Hand sketching is a very useful ability to have as an architect and your sketches are great! When you find the time you can take a look at this page for ideas and further inspiration: http://www.drawingshortcuts.com/
Great ideas and great work overall! Well done and good luck with whatever you do next. Following you online throughout the semester was a pleasure. My best wishes to you and your loved ones for a Happy New Year!
